Court Allows Cross to Remain at Ground Zero Despite Atheist Lawsuit

Posted on July 30, 2014 at 7:28 AM

The US Federal Appeals Court has rejected arguments from an atheist group claiming that the iconic cross at the Ground Zero site in New York offended and marginalised atheists.

The Court rejected the argument stating that “displaying the cross at Ground Zero to tell the story of how some people used faith to cope with the tragedy is genuine, and an objective observer would understand the purpose of the display to be secular.”
