Dwelling on the Word of God: I am the Way, the Truth and the Life (Wednesday 26th February 2014)

Posted on February 26, 2014 at 7:47 AM
From today's Gospel Acclamation (Jn 14:6):
'I am the Way, the Truth and the Life, says the Lord;
No one can come to the Father except through me.'
This is it.  This is our faith all wrapped up in just a few words from Jesus.
Ultimate fulfilment for us is to be with God and to get there we must follow Jesus (as he is the way), we must believe in him (as he is Truth), and we must live like him (as he is life itself).
Consider setting aside some time today to dwell on this passage.  Ponder it in your heart and consider what it means for you.  Ask Jesus to help you as you seek to follow him, to believe in him, and to live like him.

Have you ever heard the expression 'two ears, one mouth'? Well, this is what James appears to be getting at in this reading. From this reading we are reminded that we must listen to God's Word and do what He tells us.
